The International Tea Festival - Thai Spring of 2026

The 2026 International Tea Festival-Thai Nguyên aims to affirm the role, position of the tea plant and the tea industry in economic, cultural and tourism development; honor the historical, cultural, ecological and economic values of tea; promote the Chè Thái Nguyên brand; at the same time, direct the tea industry towards high value, organic, safe and sustainable development enhancing added value, competitiveness and step by step affirming the position of Vietnamese tea in the international market.

The opening ceremony of the 2026 International Tea Festival - Tai Nguyen with the theme of Tai Nguyen - The first named tea was held on the evening of October 30, 2026, at Võ Nguyên Giáp Square, Phan Đình Phùng, province of Tai Nguyen, which is expected to mark the opening of the tea culture week, while conveying the message of a traditional, dynamic, integrated and towards the development of sustainable tea industry.

The opening ceremony began at 7:45 p.m. with the special art program Commemorating the 195th anniversary of the founding of Tai Nguyen province (04/11/1831 - 04/11/2026) and the opening of the International Tea Festival - Tai Nguyen in 2026; awarding the First Class Labour Medal to the Party, Government and People of the Tai Nguyen provincial peoples; speech by the Party, State leaders; announcement of the decision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the registration of the Tai Nguyen Tea Plantation and Processing Institute in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List. 

The program was broadcast live on the Vietnamese TV channel Tai TV, the TV channel of the newspaper and radio, the TV Thai Nguyen, and concluded the Opening Ceremony with 10 minutes of high-altitude fireworks.

Before the opening program (from 17:30 to 18:30), the Rước Trà Khai hội art parade consisting of art model cars designed with warm tea, tea cups, tea leaves, tea hills and tea culture symbols, combined with artists, dancers, artists and international troupes in traditional costumes to form a bright colorful street festival; the art parade will have an expected itinerary from: Provincial Training Center and Sports Tournament -> Provincial Sports Square Voyang Giáp -> Provincial Circle Street -> Walking Center Street.

The Festival series of events with emphasis on cultural, foreign, commercial, tourism and tea experience activities are held continuously in tea regions, tea villages popular in provincial areas such as Tân Đương, Đồng Hỷ, La Bằng, Vô Tranh, Đồng Phúc...
